Hey forum, I just finished pushing my 3570k a little further than i did in my previous overclock and i ended up with 4.4Ghz with my V core in the BIOS set to 1.3 but my CPU only recieving 1.2 due to V droop, and yes my v droop offset is at 100%. The board i'm using a Z77a-G45 which isn't particularly high end so i was kind of expecting the V droop. The highest temp i hit with intel burn test was 93 degrees. I'm a little worried with my temps, should I be? I'm using an H100i and those temps just seem a little high. Maybe it's just me. Anyways i was just basically wondering if this is a safe OC. Thanks.

I would not be happy with those temps, and when you'll ever need the little extra is when you're rendering a video or similar.

I would try to put it down a bit so your max temp would be somewhat close to 80 degrees at max (Celsius i would guess). But also, the temp isn't that bad because the time you'll ever reach that temp is during 100% load which will barely happen unless you ofc. render a video or similar.

I personally would go down slightly ^^

A 1GHz overclock is good for a cheapie board.

IBT will make some pretty warm temps. 93 is warm but ok for short testing, you'll never see temps like that unless all you do is stress test all the time.

I guess a tip would be.. mess with PLL voltage to attempt to lower temps (doesn't always work but it doesn't hurt). It's default at 1.8V (prolly says auto) but you can lower that to 1.65-1.5V. Just make sure you do some testing afterwards and not to go below 1.5v.

thanks guys. Also, any ideas on why my temps are that high? Isn't it a little ab normal for the H100i even under load?

The OC should be fine, did you run IBT for 20 runs? If it survived that, it should be STABLE.

Remember, IBT and Prime95 are not a realistic scenario of a real load. It should be fine, however this may vary on your ambient temperature.

Could you let us know what are your temps during a game scenario?

Speaking of which, what kindof fans do you have on the R4 and on the H100i? Make sure your Corsair Link is configured properly.

Generally though, you should be fine!

4.4GHz at 1.2 with 93 degrees C is not very good. People may say "you'll never see temps like that in real life." But even when Priming, that's way too high. As for the high temps, too much thermal paste under the IHS or on the IHS.

alright here's what i'm at now. 4.4Ghz with 1.21V core (althoguh CPUZ only shows that my cpu is recieving 1.176 volts) running prime and my hottest core (core 2) is hovering around 79-80 degrees. I configured corsair link to the performance setting and i have the stock h100i fans on my rad and in my case i have 2 fans in te front as intake as well as one in the bottom as intake, and one fan in the rear as well as my h100i as exhaust. The temps i'm hitting now seem fine to me. 79 on the hottest core. I'll be running prime for the next 24 hours. Is this better guys?

Yes. If you can, replace the stock H100i fans with better fans, like Noctua or Corsair SP fans.

the stock fans are SP fans. They justdon't have th rubber sound suppressing mount in the corners and the color ring. I'm still thinking about getting some noctua fans though. Hopefully this OC lasts the night! And thanks alot for your help
