Hello,

I would like to buy a gaming headset, but, unfortunately, I don't know anything about them.

Now, as I am someone who tends to always want the best option available, I immediately wanted to buy either the Astro A40 (with a MixAmp) or the Audio Technica ATH-AG1,

but then realized that both cost a lot more than I actually want to spend. Since then, I've been looking up reviews for different headsets, but since I don't know shit about them, I don't really know what is "good enough".

Which is why I am now turning to you guys. I want the headset to have good directional audio and a good microphone, also, I want it to be comfortable. Please note that I already have good headphones which I use for music,

so the headset does not need to have a good sound quality. Thanks in advance :)

Audio Technica ATH-ADG1 is a real no brainer for positional audio and you wont find anything on market that comes close to it in that field.

Also audio techinca knows stuff about mics...  go listen samples on youtube. I am sure there must be mic review.

Seems like they were on sale here aswell because they are sold out. I might try ordering them on amazon.com and shipping them to europe though, could still be the best solution.

If you take FPS really seriously then 7.1 is a must (atleast to me) because it gives you an advantage over others.

If not go for the hyper X cloud for better sound and overall quality

if a product of 2013 is old to you then yes, but srsly they are not bad and surely better than the hyper x headset. don't know if you would have to pay a lot of customs if you import that though.

Not sure what you are referring to when talking about them being old. Do the sennheisers have 7.1 surround sound though?

Hey, once I was in your position too, want a gaming headset with a budget. So I read some review and go to gaming expo , and try some of gaming branded headset out there.

And my choice was a Corsair Vengeance 1400 Analog version , which have a decent amount of audio for its price and nice build quality , also the mic is OK, I try record my own voice and listen to it, not bad at all, just little bit of buzzing.Serve me well until now.but last expo I can get my hands on some audio-technica line-up and I do feel a little regret about  my decision back there. So now I planning on replace my vengeance with a audiopile headphones and get some cheap version of modmic....

how much is your budget anyway?

and about the 7.1, I always looks at the pro player, if they use an in-ear for playing fps games like csgo ,where knowing where your enemy coming from is a must, then stereo is enough IMO

I don't have a set budget, I just don't want to spend more than is necessary. Also, I already have a pair of good headphones, the Audio Technica ATH-PRO700 MK2, but they aren't very comfortable, which is what I want my headset to be.

hmm... to ensure your head comfort level with the headphones, I believe there's no other way than give it a try directly
