Hi guys, I'm on a little bit of a budget i'm gonna be selling my PC for around 600 bucks, and I'm planning on building one for around 1000 bucks.

My main question is the CPU, Im mainly gonna be streaming (OBS), editing (Premiere Pro CS6), recording games and that stuff.

I just know I want a GTX970, and I was looking at processors thinking of maybe buying an i7 4770k, but I'm not sure if its worth for me, or maybe I should go for an i5.

EDIT: My real question here is that if an i5 would be enough for what I do, I would rather buy an i5 and spend more on other specs.

4790K. Higher stock speed, and better TIM.

Premier benefits from HT, so go with an i7.

i7 9700K (5.2Ghz @1.2V); MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC; Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB 3200 CAS 16; H100i RGB Platinum; Samsung 970 Evo 1TB; Samsung 850 Evo 500GB; WD Black 3 TB; Phanteks 350x; Corsair RM19750w.

Laptop: Dell XPS 15 4K 9750H GTX 1650 16GB Ram 256GB SSD

The problem is I would rather save some money, so maybe a cheaper i7, which would be nice?

Their really aren't any "Cheap" i7's...

A cheap Xeon maybe?

If you're streaming and your budget is 1000, why not try out an AMD FX-8350 or something along those lines? All those cores will help out quite a lot in streaming and you can save a bit of money.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Cheap Xeon isn't a bad idea. I believe there's a low-end hyperthreaded one for about 350...?

Yeah I was thinking that, but a lot of people say the FX-8350 bottlenecks with the GTX 970

The only problem with that is a cheap xeon wouldn't perform that well in games, also you can get an i7 for cheaper than 350.

False. The Xeon has wonderful single-core performance which will be better than most of Intel's lineup bar the i7 OC'd.

But also if you watch through that whole video you would be wasting a lot of money on features that you don't need with a xeon

Its Cheaper than the i7...

Well my question is that can I go for an i5 and still get a good performance?

For streaming you're going to want more cores/hyperthreading which is why I vote for that Xeon.

Would still pderform "good". Not amazing.  If you're on a budget go for an i5... But id'e go with a Xeon W/ Hyper threading, or an i7.
