What kind of cards are you running?

According to his profile, a GTX 680. I dont think that should be a problem.

The gpu may prioritize a screen (mine goes hdmi > dvi > vga for my 3 monitors). It may just not be able to do dual.

My main is using DVI and my new screen is using HDMI is there a way i can prioritize the DVI monitor if that is the issue?

You can set it through Windows which you want as your main but I haven't found out a way (or needed to tbh) for the system itself to prioritize internally. That said - your gpu should be able to handle it no problem. Mine (650 ti boost) handles 2 1080p@60 and 1 2048x1152@60 no problem. Well I say no problem, it idles at around 50c now whereas before when it was dual it was around 35c.

The gpu itself prioritizing a screen was just maybe why the new one was working fine.

Okay here is the weird thing, my  monitor that is set infront of me is set to "main monitor" in windows options the checkbox is checked beside "make this my main monitor"

However when i click identify monitors it shows it as #2.. meanwhile the start button and everything regular is on that screen. This is what i dont get and i think is the problem i have no idea how to fix it.

That's what I mean by internal priority (which I'm afraid I have no idea how to change). The monitor I have set to main is actually has #3 :P. However I don't think that's the cause. Maybe check the advanced settings for the monitors through that window?

Nothing in advanced other than Hz and color and driver stuff. :/ Not even displayfusion can change the priority i think.
