The question is in the title, which is more powerful a Titan or 2 780s in SLI?

The 780tis, it's not even remotely close. In fact, a titan non-black is less powerful than a single 780ti for gaming if i recall correctly. That said, neither make sense unless you can get the 780tis for less than 400$ each.

-edit- whoops I read TI... doesn't change much, the 780s are still a lot faster. For them I'd pay 260$ each (considering the R9 290 is about that price)

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Sorry if I did not make this clear, but I was asking about 780s not Tis. Also I did not realize there are different types of Titans, what about a Titan Z or Titan Black. How would that compare?

Yes sorry I corrected the post ^^ titans are ing eneral a big fat waste of money for gaming. There are the titan, titan black and titan z. The titan z includes two titan cores but they are clocked lower, so they don't perform as well. It is also horribly overpriced, at least for gaming. Trust me, don't touch titans unless you're into gpu computing.

Thanks, so would you then agree that the best graphics card for gaming is a 980?

Nope. It's too expensive. For the same price (or lower) you can get 2 R9 290s in crossfire, and those will destroy the 980 performancewise. If you can pay a little more, you can get 2 970s, which don't perform much better than the 290s but draw much less power. As always, the top tier card is not worth the extra money over the second in line.
