Hey

I have troubles with downloading games on my new pc with this motherboard. It seems like the download never goes above 600KBs even though I am capable of up to 4000KBs.

It doesn't fully utilize the network I feel like, but I am not lagging or anything. Do you think it has anything to do with GameFirst? The laptop I have does the 4000KBs just fine.

Anyways, any suggestions will be great - what can I do to force it do use the network?

Restarted the pc, got about 1800KBs, still nowhere near what I used to get. Maybe I should uninstall the GameFirst thing?

Check the ASUS Internet software, sometimes it messes up download speeds and ping, if you haven't download drivers for your mobo

I have the Intel Lan Drivers, not seen any downloads to Asus Internet software though. ROG GameFirst and Intel Lan is the only thing it included, even on the website.

Must have been the GameFirst SH*T that did it. I uninstalled the program and everything is running great, getting the 4MBs-ish speed that i am supposed to get.

Yea, gamefirst seemed like a good idea, but if it limits my network so hard, i wont use it. I wasnt using it anyways, actually had it set to "off" mode, but it still messed something up.

Im still learing and messing with the software that came with my ROG Hero board. I must say the 5 way optimization program is awesome when you get it to work correctly! give it a shot! got me to 4.8 stable!

1.286v for 4.4, no thanks :/

guess i lost the lottery, but yea the DIP5 is awesome, but i'd rather play with the fans myself.

i hear ya. the first 2 times i did the optimize i only got 4.4 then 4.5. then i tried to do it manually. then i reset to factory defaults. gave the 5 way one more time and saw a check box for 4400, 4600, and 4800. didnt see it before and i checked 4800 and boom! it worked!

I tried checking 4600, 1.35v, almost frying the CPU at 91c non-peak. Not trying that again :)

Not on topic though :)

edit:

ahh, you have AMD, yea intel tends to run quite a bit hotter.

Well, Merry christmas, out for today! :D

lol no no no i used to have AMD till last week. i know off topic but i am trying to get as much personal opinions on the ROG software as possible. so yeah, a little off subject but this is better then any web site review and youtube video done by asus DIY spanish dude IMO.

the most i saw my i7 was 77* while running prime95 for a bit then it went down to 64-66. i have the h100i so i hope i am good for cooling. my h60 on the FX 8320 never let that CPU go above 39* no matter how many hours I gamed or what i was doing on the computer. still getting used to Intel. been a AMD guy for almost 10 years

merry christmas to you too!

at 4.8ghz? wow. Thats amazing with those temps i feel. I am happy with 4.4 though, I don't need any faster, but it would be fun to get it higher. I'll only upgrade when i'm done with education, so I wanted something that lasted.

Anyways -

AI Suite is awesome

Then they have some home server and cloud stuff, which i don't use and will probably uninstall. AI Suite is definitely the most useful utility.

If I get a humongous amount of ram in the future, i might use the RAMdisk software.

The audio on the ROG motherboards are fine, especially with the software tweaking. They have something called sonic radar, but i couldnt get it to work. Something about pointing out where the sound comes from in CSGO or other games.
