Right now I have a simple Pocket Juice with 1500mAh. This usually charges my iPhone and iPod Touch well but my Nexus 7 (2013) just butchers it. I think the nexus 7 has a little over 4000mAh, I would think the portable battery would fill it about 1/3 but it barely charges it, it goes up about 10% if I'm lucky. Instead of just googling for a portable battery and linking it to me (which I know alot of people seem to do), does anyone suggest a portable battery they know works well and can be found on Amazon for around 25$ or less?

Slightly off the topic, I'm looking for a case for my Nexus 7. It was between one with a keyboard and one without. I chose the one without which is this one: http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Google-New-Nexus-Case/dp/B00E4OKX6E/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1419363742&sr=1-5&keywords=moko+nexus+7+2013

What color would you get? I just want to know.  :P

Can you vouch for the quality of that battery pack? $26 is mega cheap for basically a 12,000 mAh battery pack.

I see the battery is on The Wirecutter. I've noticed alot of stuff I have they show on there. They tend to do research apparently like me so I trust them.

Try putting the nexus on airplane mode when you charge it. Should help some.

I'm usually on it when I need it plugged into a battery. I don't want to be hooked to a wall when I'm watching an anime series. :)

thats why it only goes up 10%. Try it once and you will see a difference.

Whats happeneing is you are basicly running the nexus off the external battery so only a small trickle is going into the nexus battery.

Will try. I don't remember if I was doing anything on my nexus while it was charging.

Just an FYI, they posted an update to the article:

WAIT: November 28, 2014

After an additional round of testing by our electrical engineering consultant, we are changing our pick to the Anker 2nd Gen Astro E4. We measured a real capacity of 11,444 mAh, which is below its 13,000 mAh claim, but still better than our old pick's 10,927 mAh capacity. We found in real world testing that it could charge a dead iPad air to 98% compared to just 79% with our old pick. And at $30 street price, it's a good value. Amazon customers love it too, with an average rating of 4.6 stars. The Intocircuit is still good though, and we are keeping it on as our runner-up pick.

Looks like they've changed their top pick to an Anker model (I have a 300 mAh Anker battery pack). They do note that the IntoCircuit model is still a good choice though.
