SpeedFan ramps up my fan to full speed under load

ZeroPlasm
Go to solution Solved by Pyr0monk3y,

Speed fan has a feature that sets all fans to 100% if any temperature goes over the "alarm temp".  You need to make sure all of your sensors' alarm temps are set above normal operating temperatures.

I was trying to set up my fans to turn on only under load. Thing is, I want my fan to spin at a maximum of 55% under load but SpeedFan ramps up my fan all the way to 100% under load.

My fan curve as far as I know doesn't tell my fans to ramp all the way to 100%. I've also tried limiting the fans in the "Speeds" tab in SpeedFan, the minimum value works but not the maximum which is kinda strange. My fans still ramp up all the way to 100%.

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

Speedfan is old and buggy, don't recommend using it. If you have a quite recent asus motherboard, install fan expert. Works a lot better and more options.

edit: it's a part of AI suite and you can install it from the DVD that came with the motherboard normally.

Unfortunately, I use an MSI board. Z77 mPower to be exact. There doesn't seem to be any adjustable fan curve software on this thing :/

As soon as I raised the warning temps well above my fan curve, it started to work fine.  :D
