Well, the GPU is always a good way to go. But, you might want to think out of the box for just extra things that make a gaming rig just better.

Here is a list of things I include in "my rig".

1. Monitor Cleaning Whips. (Ones that dont damage the monitor unlike water based wipes. These are cheap, $5 to a packet of 20).

2. A nice big mouse pad that is stain resistant.

3. A good solid cup coaster for keeping your gaming area nice and clean from stains.

4. A nice solid desk. My current desk is a canadian maple with 2 places for a PC, and a nice leather top. Desks are very important for rigs.

5. And finally, a great chair for long sessions on the computer.

Or, a GTX 970 and a 4690k.

Like the guy above suggests, if you dont already have a nice desk, chair or mousepad, get those. Or a new mouse or keyboard. Once you have all of those, I suggest waiting for skylake and then buy an i5, new mobo (because skylake has a different socket) and gpu

Longboarders/ skaters message me!

Does the skylakes mobo still support ddr3 or is it ddr4?

Nobody has recommended an ssd yet, that can be a cheap upgrade if on sale that can generally enhance your overall experience. That's my reasoning for my next upgrade path :) otherwise upgrading your CPU or GPU will depend on the games you play, if you like mmos you may want to upgrade your CPU, if you like fps games like bf4 you may want to upgrade that GPU although imo the 750ti is fine for now

SSD's are pretty awesome. Consider picking one up if you care about load times and such. Also it just makes everything more snappy!
