CPU fan error

Go to solution Solved by X1XNobleX1X,

That's kinda silly. Can I just plug the pump into it or does it really need to be a fan?

Oh, yeah that is what should be plugged in.

Hi,

Just built a new PC with an Asus Maximus VII Hero mobo and 4690K. I have a waterblock on it and have the onboard fan controllers disabled but keep getting an error  for the CPU fan on boot up and it makes me go into the bios everytime Windows starts. Is there a way around this issue?

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

Lounge PC CPU: 4790K MOBO: Asus Hero VII GPU: EVGA 3060 Ti PSU: Corsair RM650 RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb Storage: 970 Evo 1TB

Have you plugged your fan into the CPU_Fan header? (The one on the top right.)

You need to plug atleast one fan into the CPU_Fan header or the PC won't boot past the bios.

CPU_FAN is for your pump

CPU_OPT is for your Radiator Fan

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
