I want to switch over from the AMD mounting bracket to the intel because I am going to install it to a msi z97 board. But I realized that 2 screw holes of the h100i backplate is extremely loose (they are across each other) the other 2 are snug. Would this cause an issue with the motherboard?

They should all be snug. Try remounting it and see if it fixes the issue.

I had the same question/issue on Saturday. It WILL wobble when you put the 4 posts on the back plate and I learned that its the way it sould be. once you put the pump on, it will be a tight fit. trust me I panic'd too after setting the posts and the thing had tons of wiggle room...

On my H100i the mounting bracket was loose to begin with but once you tighten up the thumb screws it all stiffens up and works fine. I spent about 2 hours reading back through the manual thinking I had missed something, but after trying every combination of screw they gave me to mount it I followed the instructions and it worked. Hope this helped.

i just wish that in the info booklet that they give you, for it to say there may be a bit of movement in the mounting bracket.

From what I have learnt about these things, the backplate shouldn't wobble at all if it does it usually has the owner complaining of higher temps than those who use the oring method to pad out the backplate to make it nice an snug again. I don't have the forum post on me atm from corsair but here is one from a previous one from LTT.

the plate wobbled when i lined up the cut out part correctly and put the four plastic holders through the other side and hand turned on the metal posts. THEN i put on the pump and thumb screws and it fell into place nice and tight as intended. temps havent gone above 33 degrees after trying BF4 for 2 hours and opening other programs. the booklet does not say the first step will be loose and the 3rd step will tighten it up is was I was trying to say to the OP.... chill Beavis
