Need help with upgrading Pre-Built PC.

Go to solution Solved by Tedster,

Completly forgot to mention. My MOBO: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H67M_PRO/specifications/

It says it only suports RAM up to 1333MHz.

EDIT: Oh and sorry about that Mod, new here :D

Why are we talking about MHz? According to the page, the motherboard only supports up to 1.333 KHz RAM! (:

I'm sure you could get 1600MHz ram working in there no problem. I don't really understand the limitations of RAM but I think you can just overclock the controller?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but.. here we go.

I managed to save up some money and I am gonna start upgrading my pre built computer. SEPCS (pre-built): http://www.asus.com/Desktops/Essentio_CM6650/specifications/

I think the CPU/Motherboard and the HDD's are fine for now, and the case ain't that bad, so I decided to start where it is most terrrible, GPU, RAM and PSU.

With my current budget for these 3 parts I decided to go with the GTX 970 by MSI, G.Skill 1333MHz 2x4GB CL9 Ram, and a CX600M Semi Modular PSU from Corsair.

I need help from you guys and suggestions. Are this parts going to match/fit in the case. do I NEED to change or SHOULD I change something?

Thanks in advace,

Krimson.

*Cringes at Asus's page* - "Intergrated Graphics" - the graphics look like intertwined grates!

Assuming you have the space for the PSU and slots and space for the 970 you should be fine, but you should rip your PC apart and see how much space you have from the PCI slot to a physical restriction because it might be an issue.

I agree, now that I've thought of it.

Sig under construction.

It seems fine.

Around 90$ maybe 80$.

That gives a lot of options. Is there anything you particularly want from a case?

For pure value, I'll point you in the direction of the HAF 912 right away.

The Fractal Design Core Series might also be a safe bet.

My current pre built is a bit noisy, maybe something silent but that also has decent airflow ..?

Hmm...

See if you can find a good deal on a Fractal Design Define R4 - the Define series is made to be silent, but will need some extra fans for good airflow.

I'm no expert on cases.
