Really, really, really, stupid question here..  I'm sorry, I have never purchased an optical drive before, ever.

 

What kind of optical drive can read and write Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs?

 

Again, sorry, I know you're all face-palming, I can't find the answer online.

 

Or if you have a link to an external drive that would be cool too........

Blu-ray can do blu-ray, DVD, and CD

DVD can do DVD and CD

and CD can just do CD (I don't think these are made anymore)

 

Basically, the newer tech is backwards compatible.

You can easily get good DVD burner for $20. For BD stuff readers are around $50-80 and writers $75+. Still.
