  1. Thank you thank you thank you this worked
  2. Was working just fine but I decided to screw with the boot order for some reason... now keyboard isnt being recognized, I cant boot bios, and I'm getting "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key." Keyboard and mouse not recognized, also won't boot from flash drive with windows installed.
  3. Hard drive will be from existing computer Peripherals are already purchased PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZD7Fm8 Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZD7Fm8/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock H110M-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard ($71.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Avexir Core Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($40.99 @ Amazon) Case: Cooler Master Elite 110 Mini ITX Tower Case ($38.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $0.00) Total: $261.96 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-12-19 00:33 EST-0500

  6. Hang on I didn't realize this case could take a ATX PSU and I'm going to have a Corsair CX600M lying around after upgrading my own build (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cx-series-cx600m-modular-atx-power-supply-600-watt-80-plus-bronze-certified-modular-psu) Talk about overkill, but I don't see why that won't work
  7. The modular feature would be nice since I'll be working in a small case He definitely isn't a gamer though, he won't be gaming but upgrades will almost certainly happen
  8. I mean I'm not committed to the PSU I put in the original parts list I'm only wondering if there is a PSU with less wattage that is more reliable I'm not saying that what you've suggested in unreasonable
  9. He doesn't really need a 450 PSU though
  10. I'll ask if that's something he wants. I think he was looking to spend no more than $400 so that could fit into his budget
  11. My dad's job basically involves typing documents and replying to emails and such, and his current computer is getting really old. If he had asked me to build him a gaming computer, no problem, but I don't know anything about building what he needs. I put together something on PCPP (below) based on similar builds I saw on there. Should I make any changes? Note: I plan to use the hard drive in his current build, and he already has peripherals. 12. I wouldn't use it if it wasn't required for this assignment
  13. I am supposed to write a function that generates a random number between numbers that are parameters. So when using this function, for example, if I want a number between 1 and 10, I would type random(1,10). Can someone show me how to do this? Any help is much appreciated
  14. I don't know what this warning means: warning: control reaches end of non-void function [-Wreturn-type]. Please help. Here are the functions I am getting this error for (this is in C++)(the variables and shit are weird because this is a homework assignment): float readFood() { float food; cout <<"How much food (in lbs) do you discard per day? "; cin >> food; while (food >= 100 || food < 0); { if (food >= 100) cout <<" Impossible!" << endl; else if (food < 0) cout <<" Impossible!" << endl; else return food; } } int readTransit() { char answer; int miles; int transit=0; cout <<"Do you use any form of public transit (y/n)? "; cin >> answer; while (answer != 'y' || answer != 'n') { cout <<"y or n please." << endl; cin >> answer; } if ((answer = 'n')) return transit; else { cout <<"How many miles do you commute daily? "; do { cin >> miles; if (miles < 0 || miles > 250) cout <<"Impossible!" << endl; else return miles; }while (miles < 0 || miles > 250); } } int mrBurns() { char mrBurns; int age; const int ymrBurns=570; char mrBurnsRelative; cout <<"Are you Mr. Burns (y/n)? "; cin >> mrBurns; while (mrBurns != 'y' || mrBurns != 'n') { cout <<"y or n please." << endl; cin >> mrBurns; } if ((mrBurns = 'n')) return ymrBurns; else { cout <<"Are you related to Mr. Burns (y/n)? "; cin >> mrBurnsRelative; while (mrBurns != 'y' || mrBurns != 'n') { cout <<"y or n please." << endl; cin >> mrBurnsRelative; } if ((mrBurnsRelative = 'y')) return (ymrBurns / 2); else { while (age <= 0 || age > 120) { cout <<"What is your age? "; cin >> age; if (age <= 0 || age > 120) cout <<"Impossible!"; else return age; } } } }
