3 things are ailing my windows install these three things are as follows:

1. Task manager won't end processes the loading blue circle opens for a second and that's about it the task remains open

2. Properties doesn't open, right clicking and selecting properties does nothing

3. Various settings do not open, volume devices power options do not open when clicked on or searched for,

Things I've tried virus scan (malwarebytes), running in safe mode, uninstalling anything that may effect this.

So help this has been happening for a while and its quite the nuisance.

Is it a pirated version? B/c some of those that have tweaks applied can come out dodgey.

But i don't wanna.

But it does work. I was plagued with issues before, but a fresh reinstall made my new Windows nice and snappy, and resolved all my issues.

Then time to do a real install, and you can actuallly do an upgrade method.

May or may not be but it was working fine before this install has been going stronk for a few months before this happened.

may or may not?  If it is it might be simply karma.

However, have you run any registry cleaner recently?  If so, that could have caused a problem, if not then run the ccleaner registry cleaner and make the optional backup.

And maybe try restoring from a restore point, or a system image.

Well, still restore from a system image if possible.  Or get a Windows 7 iso, install it and use the 30 day trial, during the trial get enough money to buy a license.  If you pirate, thats your problem but I don't recommend pirating Windows because for one its illegal, and two because often it comes with downfalls and tweaks and sometimes rootkits and viruses.

Rootkits are pretty bad as I'm sure you know, as they can hide in BIOS, Master Boot Record or even replace system32 files.  So, if you have got a rootkit or a virus causing troubles if you have pirated Windows it is very hard to detect and you will probably never detect it unless you scan with bootable media, update your BIOS and etc.

I got the ISO directly from microsoft and the only thing that i used was an activator, i may just switch to 8.1 if i have to buy/reinstall an OS
