Hello everyone,

I want to upgrade the thermal paste I've been using on my CPU to Arctic Silver 5.

I have no idea how to effectively remove the preexisting compound, so what do I need to remove it and how much of the new paste should I use?

Use rubbing alcohol (preferably 90% or higher) and something like a microfiber cloth.

For the new paste you can just put about a grain of rice on there (in the middle), some people spread it out with a credit card but it's really not needed.

you can just use toilet paper or even better kitchen paper and some alcohol, even 70% is fine.

take a soft cloth and place some rubbing alcohol and rub the cpu until its cleaned off then to apply the new thermal paste you simply just well place a pea size drop on it

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

I've used Arctic Silver's own Arcticlean solutions for many years and they work great.  A few drops and let it sit for a minute then wipe off.  Repeat a few times to get it all off and then purify.  The bottle lasts a long time because you don't need much of it.  The last set I threw away still had some left but I had it so long the bottles started deteriorating.
