hey guys, I recently got my new modmic 4.0 and of course I wanted to test it right away. but there was a problem: the volume is so low, it only records if I boost it which is no option because of the static noise... But anyway, I heard this is a problem with some realtek chips and didn't find any solutions for this. I also saw people handling this problem with a usb soundcard or something like this. What would you recommend buying in this case?

atm I just use my onboard from my asus VII ranger mobo and it shouldn't be too expensive but if there's no way arround it I have to pay for it I guess...

Enable noise suppression in your audio drivers. Normally my mic is too quiet so I have to use at least +10 dB. Without noise suppression its useless, but with it, it's very clear. If you don't have the option try updating your drivers and check if it's there.

Could it be noise reduction? I don't see anything that says noise suppression

And since I live in Switzerland it's more convenient for me to buy in a swiss online shop where some things like the syba usb aren't available. But I think this would be a cheap and good solution for me: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/sweex-soundkarten-adapter-usb-20-soundkarte-361250?tagIds=76-525

and of course I would use this just for my mic.

Yea noise reduction sounds right. For me, its just a check box that says noise suppression but I guess it may be different for the ROG motherboard ones. Turn it all the way up and check if it's better.
