I would build a new computer and be finally able to change from a laptop and consoles to the pc masterrace :) And I want this CPU for music production and some video editing.

If I got the i7 5820k, I would finally be able to build an awesome PC (for video editing, 3D rendering and, since I saved a lot on the CPU, I'd be able to get a nice GPU), what would make my brother realize that PC's win to consoles

I would use this beast of a processor on a X99 board for gaming and foto editing in a new gaming rig.

first i would be happy :D :D :D :D :D:P :P ;) ;) ;)

then i would buy all other components like asus x99-a, gskill ripjaws n everything......

i am going to use this "RIG" for video rendering like 3ds max,maya n everything,,,,but first i've to learn those....i think lynda.com may be the answer....

n yes this would cut singificant amount from the "RIG" cost.....

I am currently doing a creative media production diploma and using things such as 3D modeling software, video editing as well as game engines so the extra cores would really help me out.

I'm saving money for a new build and getting this awesome CPU for free would certainly make it happen since it's nearly 30% less of the overall cost.

I'd either get a PC built around it, so I can make videos, and/or stream.
Would make a great upgrade from a Core2Quad! :)

I'd compare it to my xeon (1150) and build a new work machine. It's time for an upgrade. If I could eliminate  the cost of a processor I could buy a better work station card.

 

and an EDIT: I have to wonder WTF I would want a 140watt processor for?

This would be a big help in building my first desktop gaming PC, which would also be used for creating and editing music which can be intensive on CPUs when working on multiple sound files at one time. I have a tight budget for my PC and would have to wait til the end of summer otherwise so this would be a big help!

Well this woul dbe my first enthusiast platform if I were to win this. Honestly I will not use it for productivity stuff for that is not my line of work but it would be used for gaming(overkill indeed :)
