I am trying to work out the troubles I am having setting up a minecraft server and was wondering if someone could offer any suggestions. I have the server set up and have port forwarded (making sure the port is open with a website too) as well as setting up a static ip, but I still can't connect via my public ip. I have tried disabling windows firewall but that didn't do any thing to fix the problem. I have had a server running on this computer before so the only thing I could think of was that I started using a usb wifi card but I used to have an Ethernet connection. Could this be the problem? And what other solutions may there be? Feel free to ask questions and thanks for reading!

I really hope so, that is what shows up when I type "my ip" into chrome. Same thing with ip chicken.

EDIT: It says that under my Router settings as well.

Alright. Go to: Start . Type in run. type cmd in run. when you are in command prompt, type ipconfig. MAke sure everything that is in ipconfig is the same as in you port forwarding settings. also, for the port number, it's 25565

Yeah, that's what I did, my IPv4 address is listed as my server ip (like it should be I think.)

It's not up and running right now, so that was probably why you couldn't connect ;) Sorry, I'll start it up!
