Hi,

Thanks for all the comments in my last topic these are the new specs, but i still have some questions.

First the specs;

Case: Sharkoon T9 Value red edition

RAM: Kingston HyperX 8 GB DDR31866 Kit

GPU: XFX R9 280X Black Double Dissipation

HDD: Western Digital Blue, 1 TB

SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury SHFS37A/120GB

CPU: AMD FX8320, 3,5 GHz

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo

Motherboard: MSI 970 GAMING, socket AM3+

PSU: Cooler Master G650M

Wireless: TPLINK TLWDN3800

My question is, is the CPU gonna bottleneck the GPU?

In that case i'm considering going down to a FX-6300 3.5Ghz

Any other suggestions are more then welcome!

P.S. For the Intel guys i'm sticking with AMD sorry.

It CPU is not going to bottleneck 1 280x you just can't add another one or else it will.

And how about the R9 290?

I've done some research and they say the 8350 is gonne bottleneck the R9 290.

At stock speeds, it won't (the chips were closely released to each other, and both were AMD's flagship products at their release.) but if you add another one, you will need a serious overclock (we're talking to 4.7GHz at least) to get rid of the bottleneck.

Yes the 290 is going to bottleneck the 8350 and the 8320.

If you are looking to overclock, shouldn't you get an 990fx motherboard? I've heard bad things about 970 motherboards not delivering proper power.

If you get easily offended by people on the Internet there is something really wrong with you. You focus on the opinions of a few people instead of worrying about why you have a terrible taste in video games.

There is no denying that Intel is ahead on gaming CPU performance. The only question is whether you can actually notice a difference in game without looking at the numbers on fraps. Without looking at numbers I believe you would only be able to tell the difference in online games with very high player count. And they even run badly on intel, just not as badly... Basically the fx-8350 is not the best gaming CPU around, but if you want to support AMD then yes it is more than capable of giving you a good experience even paired with a high end GPU.

When games based on the next generation APIs like DirectX12 and OpenGL Next start hitting the market then fx-8350 will get a boost thanks to the lower overhead and superior multithreading abilities. The draw call overhead will be lower and will be more effectively shared amongst all available CPU cores giving high core count chips like the 8350 a boost; In the current market you can see Mantle as a good proof of concept for this...

This is a good start

but here are the issues in your build

the MSI 970 gaming supports the FX OC is kinda limited

The PSU is on the low/mid range PSU from CoolerMaster

you may need to invest on a better PSU

XFX GPU have bad coolers and RMA is a pain in the butt

what is your max budget?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Thanks allot for the reply, and i have been told the 280X is the max the 290's are going to bottleneck. So the 280X is the max that i can go on graphicscards.

Cool, have fun.

Also remember to enjoy the games and not become a benchmark junkie.
