(Question) DIY vs Pre-Built NAS

Hello, 

I am planing to get a low cost NAS but i want to know if anyone have more information 

I want to use 4x4TB drives

 

Using FreeNas or Nas4Free

CPU - Intel Celeron G1840

MOBO - BIOSTAR B85MG

Ram  - 8GB

SILVERSTONE SFX ST30SF 300W

for $224.96 plus tax

 

and the other option is the Netgear ReadyNAS 104 for $219.00 plus tax

 

I just want to get  +80MB/s Reads and im not sure if i will have to use RAID 5 or 6 for max capacity and good performance

So guys u think i will get better reads from the DIY or from the ReadyNas

 

another question is

Do i need a Raid controller if i build myself the pc? or i can just use the sata ports on the motherboard?

I think you wont need 8 GB for nas

That motherboard supports raid but I dont know in which configuration

I just read FreeNAS requires 8gb thats why i put that much but if its not needed i can put less
