Hello guys I am planning on doing a pc build but i am confused on which to choose: x99 or z97?

Here is the build I am think of doing: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NtCB4D

I am confused because if I go which an z97 build I will have 2 way 970 but the ram will be 1600mhz...

If i go with x99 i will have plent of ram slots to upgrade in the future as well all be other good features.

Thanks.

X99 but you are better of getting a cheaper z97 build and upgrade that.

Is there a huge difference between x99 and z97?

For gaming? None between a 4790k and a 5820k at the same frequency.  However if you want future proof I would go for the 5820k.

Ryzen 3700x -Evga RTX 2080 Super- Msi x570 Gaming Edge - G.Skill Ripjaws 3600Mhz RAM - EVGA SuperNova G3 750W -500gb 970 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 850 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 840 Evo  - 4Tb WD Blue- NZXT h500 - ROG Swift PG348Q

Mate if you're gaming, save yourself some money. Get a 4790K, 16GB's of RAM (more than enough), Z97 and you can get higher frequency RAM no problem.

If you need the extra cores and RAM for content creation, rendering, photo editing etc. then you'd be better off getting going X99.
