Question about Metro 2033

Picked up 2033 and Last Light Redux on sale this weekend, played through a decent chunk of 2033.

Problem is, I have played it before (not last light) and I always get to the same point and then give up (Library). I got through the library this time and then I just don't really have a desire to continue. Its been slogging on and I have to use inordinate amounts of ammo to cope with the swarms of enemies someone thought it would be a good idea to have everywhere. Does it get better ? I'm about ready to throw in the towel again.

Haven't played it myself, but my philosophy is to just push through. When your done you will be able to reflect on the experience and appreciate the games you DO enjoy much more due to bad experiences in the past. For me that was The Last of Us.

You are having difficulty with the game or you are just bored? I can only suggest using air based weapons.

not sure if library was before archives or not but I got really butt raped in that mission but once that is done final 2-3 missions are relatively easy

yeah but as usual you will get swarmed couple of times but not scary as the ones in library

Library is easy, just follow Miller's advice.

 

Maintain eye contact at all times and do not run, then they won't attack

When I first played it, I got stuck somewhere just because I didnt have any more filters on my second playthrough I managed to get by and my most used weapon (and most effective imo, one-shotted almost everything) was the... i dont know the name... the one you pump up and shoots electrified steel balls... other than that I used a sniper rifle or a silenced gun but I managed to get to the end and I am planing to play Last Light soon...

Wow really you get stuck there? I found the game really easy, even in Ranger mode

 

You pretty much have to use stealth in the library, dont just go in guns blazing

Library was easy, it's Depository/Archives that kinda suck.

Trying it again, if I need to i can just pull up a video guide on my phone or something.

Did you have issues with your game always crashing? cause i'm about 2 hours into the game but now it crashes as soon as i open and i haven't been able to fix it

if your using ridiculous amounts of ammo to kill then your misunderstanding the game. It's truely built around an apocolypse, which means every bullet you shoot is important. If you take the game seriously enough like that it can make it fun. But I'd say theres still a good deal more to the game. Interesting nonetheless. You found the infamous military bunker and flush it out.

Stealth Speed and if all else fails explosives especially against the librarians. I really enjoyed the feel of metro it was very much the russian apocalypse I was looking for. I haven`t played last light yet but I probably will in the coming months.

I got to D6 and then got to the Amoebas.

I've done all I need to haha I've read the book so I know what happens. Not even going to deal with the amoebas.
