Not sure about compatability, Help?

Go to solution Solved by 79wjd,

An i5 2300 is NOT compatible with a Z87 board, you need to get a Haswell chip. (i3/i5/i7 4xxx series)

The psu/hdd is fine though.

Hey guys I recently bought several parts. Asus Z87 pro motherboard and a corsair cx 600 power supply. I don't know if the power supply works with the hdd because on the pre built pc i have has wst on the power cords, but my cx has tuv. and different number. I don't want to build it because electrics isin't my thing. Secondly, the pre built has an i5  2300 that I believe works with my new board but i still want an opinion please and thank you!
