Hi guys,

So I'm upgrading and watercooling my computer sometime by the end of this year. The upgrade is just going to consist of a GPU upgrade and all the rest of the money will be going into the watercooling. My budget is maximum of 300 pounds. (470 dollars). I've been looking at a reference 670 as it's easy to get waterblocks for it. What would you get? I'd like to hear what you think.

Thanks

If you are getting something at the end of the year, you should wait for AMD to see what they've got up their sleeves before deciding on getting the 670

Is the 9000 series supposed to be out by then? I'm still not sure when I'm going to be getting a new GPU. It could be earlier, because I may be in America and could get something cheaper. What would you get now?

If you can't live with your 7770, you could get a GTX 670 and then another later on and SLI. You would need a bigger PSU though... do you want the best FPS at ultra max settings? Or are you fine with bit lower fps. I would personally go for 7970 as it is about the same price as GTX 670 but compares to GTX 680 and is faster if both of them are overclocked.

Either wait for amd or 770. they are only a little more expensive and they will be better.

You better get the GTX 770. it's better than 680 and price is 30-40$+ of gtx 670. but if you are getting by the end of this year wait a little more for GTX 760 Ti as I'm waiting for it.

Finishing up my build...

Thanks for all the input guys. The settings I'd like to run will be 1080p with games like battlefield 3 and 4 and crysis 2 (not 3) maxed out. New stuff like crysis 3 and other things I'll be fine with on lower setting. I'd like to be having over 40FPS. If I do get the money, It would be good to go SLI eventually, so I was steering away from AMD because of all their Xfire issues. And I do intend on upgrading the PSU when I watercool as well to an 850+ watts one. At the moment, I'm thinking 770, by what you're all saying.
