Crazy good deal from Dell (monitor for ~$110/cheap Steambox for $400)

whatthe_fuzz

So Dell is offering 2 different sales.

one on the S2340L monitor for $170 with a $100 Dell gift card

and the other is a lower tier Steambox, the Alienware Alpha, for $500 and a $50 gift card.

so in theory you could buy the monitor and get a $100 gift card good for the Alpha and maybe you can convince a Dell rep to give you both discounts at once.

worth a shot to save another $50

Goodluck

$520 for a decent rig and a great screen? not too bad

well sure 60$ on top of that for the controller plus SteamOS would do fine.

I like how in every thread there is the idiot that thinks they can build a better pc yet they don't include a controller or an OS and then see no problem with how big the system is compared to the alpha.

He was challenged to build a pc for similar price. No need to start an argument.

Aren't steambox's supposed to have "steamOS"?

Yes, but Valve time.

It is expected to be released 2015, but for the time being they come dual-booted with Windows as well.
