As much as I love the G710 the key caps are terrible. Everyone I know that has one has broken keycaps. I say get the K70, whether you want RGB or not is up to you

Does not having programmable macro buttons really matter for FPS games?

Macro buttons in general is a nitch. My brother used a G710+, and now a K95. I have asked him how much he ever used the macro keys. Pretty much never was the answer.

However, for some people, they could be handy. But in general they are not. I would just stick with a more normal keyboard. Corsair K70, Anything Ducky, Filco, Cooler Master, etc.

What would you say the overall best keyboard for CS:GO/DayZ would be?

I don't care about RGB.

Most mechanical keyboards are very similar in terms of how good they are.

Biggest difference would be the feeling of the key presses. I usually recommend Cherry MX Brown's to people, since that is my favorite. But that is highly subjective.

And since I'm also a bit of a Ducky fanboy, I often recommend either the Ducky Shine 4, or their Legend.

Shine 4 if you want a bit more customization in terms of how you want your keyboard to look. Since each key has blue/red LED's.

Legend for its cheer build quality, Has a 5mm thick top plate made out of aluminum.

The g710+ is pretty good. Keycaps are made cheaply tho. Mine hasn't broken yet but I've seen lots of forum posts about them breaking. I would recommend something like the corsair k70 or a 10 keyless cooler Master board and get custom Keycaps.

There's no such thing as a keyboard just for that sort of thing - it's all personal preference.

If you need browns, look into the Corsair K70 or maybe a Cooler Master Quickfire TK with browns. Interesting layout that Cooler Master has.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

If you don't care about RGB, I'd get a Ducky Shine 4. I hear the build quality is superb.

As a matter of fact, if the Shine 4 was RGB, I'd probably look into getting that rather than the Corsair K70.

This is true, but it has a 3 year warranty and Logitech will send you a brand new keyboard with no resistance (unless you void the warranty) for up to 3 years.  I have had 3 replaced.
