Tottaly forgot about the cpu. Can you upgrade it too?

Yeah, it's a normal pc. You can take everything out of the case and put brand new things in there. Just watch out for compatibility issue if you're switching out processors.

Um. I have a labtop. With an i7. I forget what model. No GPU.

You cannot upgrade the CPU on most laptops (Including yours). And adding GPUs on laptops that do not support it usually require an external GPU.

You are stuck with upgrading the RAM and storage.

Ya. So I was thinking about this Alienware on Craiglist because personally I think the case is awesome and I thought I could fix it up later.

But it requires taking out the thing which is difficult, dealing with the companies motherboard freaking out because of a changed CPU, getting proper cooling, making sure you have proper power delivery, and lastly finding a laptop CPU to buy.

Also, there is not much to upgrade to if you have a MQ i7.

So wait, you are thinking about upgrading your laptop now or getting the Area 51 and upgrading?

I was asking about the motherboard information on the Area 51 and you responded with "I have a laptop".

Oh. I thought you thought I has the Alienware already. But no I do not want to upgrade my labtop. Im planning on buying the Alienware and upgrading later.

The Area 51 has an i7.

Do you know which i7? Because if the Ebay person does not know, I would be cautious. Or you could ask them.

If it is a LGA 1155 Core i7, then it already has the most powerful CPU. You would need another motherboard to upgrade more than that.

Most likely it is a LGA 1155 Core i7. Which means it has 4 cores 8 threads.

If you are gaming and rendering, than this is more than enough power.

The next step up is a motherboard  with a LGA 2011 socket and a 6 or 8 core CPU. Which is way beyond gaming.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

This guy is a complete idiot! He thinks the threads are cores and there is two CPUs!

He could get blocked for false advertising because of his stupidity.

There is one CPU. It has 4 cores. And each core has 2 threads. Meaning that window shows it as "8 cores"

How much is it. Because it would only be worth it at the $500-680 price range.
