Hello dear forum,

 

 

I need some good advices to make my home network safe and good to surf on internet or play games (ex. League of Legends).

Only thing i know atm is a VPN server but program with i tested have some bad issuses with LoL servers for example, so any good VPN alternative would be great too.

 

I am greatfull for any kind of advice

 

P.S i usin comodo free security package atm.

put a  mac adress on your router

why should i put my own mac adress to my router? what it will archive?

Better security hackers will find it more difficult to get in your wirless acces

wirlessyou mean like wifi network? than i sa i am not on wifi network

 

EDIT: I looked up on my router settings and found an option called clonin mac adress which i guess its that thing you mentioned and its enabled so this thing has been done when my brother make our network(a very long time ago but you know you can still make it better ).

Vpn will always slow your connection.

What is the issue with your network?

VPN can slow or boost connection dependly on its server but i used it for couple of minutes and program that is connecting to VPN or VPN itself arent workin well with LoL(for now i got only this one game since my new hdd is on repair) , and nothin is wrong if you want some good security because soon enough even governor will want to see what you are doin on the net and that kind of stuff. ^^

The only reason why you can get a faster connection over a VPN is if your ISP is throttling a service, they can not actually give you additional speed.

I'm not really sure what you mean by this, if you mean changing the MAC (Media Access Control) address, then it's not going to really do anything for you except change your IP, but it won't give you any security benefits.

Well about VPN it can be true since its main purpouse is to hide your pc/router ip b their own server ip but than as i mentioned before (and i wanna to work it too) is that you cant play mmo games like moba(again this LoL) and that is sad . If that wasnt a case i wouldnt worry about surfin the net and play game the same time usin VPN which probably would increase security at least i think that way that's why i lookin here for help/advices because there are ppl who are better at it than me.
