low fps sli

Go to solution Solved by vlkn´,

1. Get a new PSU

2. Place the Graphicscard with the most amount of VRAM (only 2gb and 4gb) on the top

3. If you only got 2GB vram and the game needs more than 2GB, it´s starting to "lagg"

If you want to see if the game does want to use more vram as it can provide, you can download Msi afterburner and configure it to display while you are gaming.

I was playing crisis 3 with Sli 770s and the first time I tried to play it, it almost lagged out so I restarted my computer but I'm only getting 40 flat fps no dips no upward spikes it's weird.

Oh and side note when I was running the first time and it lagged out I got a message from windows "crisis 3 is using high amounts of memory." and I'm pretty sure I enabled Sli on GeForce

Try disabling one of the cards and seeing how your FPS is.

Then see if it scales in other games.

So I tested taking one card out and was getting like 24 FPS with single card and Max graphics. Do you think somehow my cards are underclocked somehow.

What's your recommended power supply?

EVGA G2 750 watts. On pc part picker your system draws 638 watts, how the heck are you running that PC with just 650 watts 80+ bronze? I highly doubt that your 2nd card is active. Either that or both cards are sort of forced to undervolt/underclock to accommodate the lack of power. Change PSU immediately, I personally would get the EVGA G2 850 watts for room to OC the living crap out of my CPU and GPUs

Good idea I'll try that in the morning

According to my brother (who is an electrical engineer) he said that if your PSU isnt strong enough to pump out the wattages your PSU and parts will be damaged. I suggest running a single 770 till you can afford the new PSU i suggested above

Depends on a number of things like power draw per rail. If the 12V rail(s) is/are fine, the components running on THAT rail or rail system won't be damaged. Even so, the protection circuitry should kick the power supply as far as I'm concerned.

Also had that issue with high amounts of memory when i was running 8GB ram in Crysis, BF4 and pretty much most games. i think you should try adding another 2x4gb sticks or get 2x8GB sticks.

Check gpu temps. i've also heard that the vrm is not being cooled well enough on the asus GTX770 so maybe it's a problem with your vrm on the ASUS card
