RAM Question

So I am looking to put G.Skill Ripjaws4 memory into a new build I want to do and on their website, they advertise an 8-stick package of their 3000MHz ram which is a 32GB or a 64GB package. However, I can not find anywhere that anyone sells these 8-stick packages. 

 

1. Is it possible to buy two (2) of the quad channel kits that are exactly the same and use those? Or do I need to keep looking for anyone to sell the full set?

 

2. If anyone knows where someone would sell the full 8-stick set then please let me know.

1. You could use two kits of four, yes.

There is no difference between a 1x16Gb kit and 2x8Gb kit (for an example).

They are exact same rams, just bundled differently.

Bigger kit is usually just cheaper than to buy 2x of the lower kit.

and yes you can use 2 sets of quad channel or 4 sets of dual channel if you need 64GB of ram

You can actually buy two quad channel kits and use it as 8x8 kit.

3000MHz is not gonna make big difference from 2800MHz.

you are intepreting that wrong.

 

The other is a 1x16Gb kit with 4x4Gb ram sticks inside.

And the other is 2x 8Gb kits with 2x4Gb sticks inside in both of the kits.
