Hi guys, here is my current setup:

Processor : Intel i5-2500

Ram : Kingston 2x 4GB 1333mhz DDR3 CL9

MB : Gigabyte Z77M-D3H

PSU : CM 750w GXII

GPU : ATI Radeon XFX 5850HD

SSD: Sandisk ultra plus 128gb

HDD: Toshiba 1TB

Monitors: samsung 23" LED x2

With my current setup, i can play games like nfs:rivals on ultra setting @ 1080p and get occasional frame drops, especially during corners when i apply the brakes. Games like crysis 3 takes a toll on my machine and i have to set everything to around low-mid. My GPU load is usually around 95% during such games while CPu is around 60%.

i am currently considering a gpu upgrade to a MSI GTX 970 4G GPU. Will i see a huge improvement base on my current PC setup with the new card? I am thinking of doing a bit of OC-ing on the 970, from where i heard, 1500mhz core is easy to get.

Yes, definitely.

I have two 970s and they can overlcock to 1500mhz stable.

You're going from a 5850 to a 970 so the performance jump will be huge.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys. i am almost certain to get it now that i received such positive responds :) One thing though, I have read around a bit, and it seems that people are only getting GTX970 rather than the r9 290x because it is cheaper. However, i have checked and it seems that the r9 290x is a lot cheaper than the gtx 970, around USD60 (after conversion). Any comments?
