I put together a new pc yesterday but after i installed windows it tried to reboot itself and it failed. The fans weren't spinning but the mobo led and gpu were still working. I disconnected the ssd, hdd and odd and reconnected them and it worked again. But after about 30 minutes the pc randomly rebooted again. I've had this like 15 times in 4 hours. I already tried to only use the ssd with all 3 sata data cables while the hdd and odd were unplugged, but still the same problem. The gpu seems to work fine, the cpu temps are around 30 but still the problem persists. Please help me!

Have you tested any of the parts individually in another PC?

May be a possible Motherboard issue.

not yet i'm going to do that tomorrow. i thought it might be the psu or the motherboard. i will unplug and replug everything tonight. do you have any other suggestions? i tried to update the bios but its a 16-bit installer for some reason and i have a 64 bit windows.

What version Bios are you currently running?

Most recent is F8.

F6 Bios has support for 4th gen Intel, which your i5-4440 is.

i knew i forgot to check something :P. i will do that tonight but i think its F7. I'm scared to update the bios because the pc might restart while installing which would mean i bricked the motherboard.

Disconnect all cables.

Plug them in one after one, check if they are in place and can´t be pulled out

Connect only 1 Harddrive, no cd drive.

Go into your bios, check if all auto overclock functions are disabled.

Set the ram speed to 1333Mhz or 1600Mhz, if they are lower, it´s fine.

Does the powersupply get warm (check if the psu fan spinns) when the system reboot? You can touch the psu case to check.

Good luck

I've looked at the psu fan but its spinning while the pc is turned on, the psu doesnt feel warm at all. What else could the problem be? I will reconnect some cables tomorrow.
