SSD Caching

Hey Guys,

 

I've a question regarding SSD caching. Can I cach my HDD although my main drive is an SSD? I'm asking because I would like to have faster data access on my HDD. I'm not sure if it'll work because I know I have to set the Sata Onboard Controller to Raid and my main SSD isn't in a Raid Array.

 

If you don't understand what I'm trying to ask you guys I want to setup the following:

1. Main SSD with Windows, couple of Games etc..

2. HDD + a new SSD for caching

 

I hope anybody can help me and I apologize for any grammar mistakes.

Yes you can. You'll need an Intel based chipset and Intel Rapid Storage Technology. (software, free)

i heard it is only possible when you have the os on the hdd o.O

can you send me a link to how to do this? I want to do it in my system aswell but didnt find anything about this.

People are saying you would have to use a separate SSD for it to work. Though you could partition your SSD to do it.
