Error Code A2

Go to solution Solved by brownds,

I didn't have to change anything in my bios to AHCI since it was already set to it. However, I've managed to solve the problem. I just continued to troubleshoot and I found out that if I plug in one of my video cards and wait, then my computer will skip the bios and the windows startup animation with a black screen. My computer will then show the windows log in. After I discovered this, I restarted the computer again to find that this time I could see the bios and the windows startup animation. I was finally able to plug in my second video card and SLI bridge without fault.

I finally got a SSD and was super pumped. I've been working on plugging it in and when I finally get it all in place and try to plug it in I get the error code A2 and I can't reach my bios. I've tried swapping components around and doing some troubleshooting and I've narrowed it down to my video cards. When I remove both of them I can reach the bios, but if any number of them are plugged into either slot I can't reach the bios again. Any ideas?

Nope not your video cards. Because -

Go to your manual page 43 and you will find DR. Debug

I downloaded the manual and -

 0xA2 = IDE Detect

To fix it, get the old drive, install it, go in the bios, go to boot settings, change wherever it says IDE to AHCI.

Plug in your SSD and remove the HDD and youre done!

Lets all ripperoni in pepperoni
