Asus strix 970 / sag - solution - temp problem

I noticed the card sag a bit its on a slight angle

so i found a workable cable and tied the sagging edge of the card to the top of the case and put some tension on it

that straightened the card

i was happy but later i noticed high temps while gaming it reached 76 degrees

i didnt quite understand how it could relate to what i did but i figured it must be it

i took my fix off and temp are back to normal just played for two hours and max temp reached was 62 degrees in the exact same game that reached 76

i recorded this in action you can see the temp jumping to 75 while i pull the card up gently like a a few millimeters

clearly i took it off the hell with the sag

i wonder what could explain the raise in temps

i moved something on the board or maybe pulled apart the contact from something that needs to be cooled

but i pulled the entire card not only a part of it so i dont know

the net is full of results of people doing stuff like this as a solution for sag

i wonder if this happens on other cards as well

anyway not touching it anymore

The first thing I will say is this:

YOU HAVE CABLE MANAGEMENT HOLES/GROMMETS, WHICH MEANS YOU SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH SPACE FOR JUST ABOUT EVERY CABLE TO GO BEHIND THE MOTHERBOARD TRAY. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO SOME DECENT CABLE MANAGEMENT!

Now that that's out of the way.

This is an awkward scenario O_o
