So I finally got the Lollipop update yesterday on my Nexus 7 (well didn't I join the party late?)

I like a lot of it visually (even if I feel it's a step back in a couple of places when it comes to UI optimization, particularly for tablets), but one thing I think I dislike is their choice to change the navbar icons. The common misconception of plebs is that android is "less simple" than iOS (don't care to go into this topic in full on this thread) and I can't help but feel the change was completely unneeded and if anything only a step in the wrong direction.

Truthfully it doesn't bother me that much, but as I said above it just seems like a silly decision.

What are people's thoughts on this?

at first they reminded me of playstation's buttons but gotten to have used to it and im sure we'll all do

I certainly don't think it's a big thing and it's not like it affects productivity. But I mean - triangle rather than an arrow pointing backwards. Circle rather than the pentagon (which resembles a house, hence "home"). Square rather than those 2 overlapping rectangles (which actually looks visually closer to the new recent apps screen than the old). Just seems the old icons were near enough perfect.
