The 4690K is really the best choice for gaming unless you are on a tight budget.

I need help about choosing. I am thinking of buying i5 4690k cpu. Then I checked the amd cpus. I looked at those: AMD FX-9370, AMD A10-7850K X4. I want to know of those three which is the best and if there is some better amd cpu than the 4690k one. I intend to use my pc for gaming.

I'm a Intel fanboy, so I may be biased, but I would go for the 4690K.

The AMD is slightly better, but the Intel runs a ton cooler. 

 

The 9370 is only a 8320 overclocked .

Not really.  The AMD 9000 series is basically an overclocked 8000 chip that has been relabeled.  A 4690K has all of its overclocking headroom available and really isn't much worse off for it over the AMD.  The AMD FX platform is fairly dated at this point and won't be replaced for another year or so from the looks of it.  All in all the Intel platform is a better choice at this time.

no but the £70/$86 saved could go towards a better gpu.

or you could get 2 pentium k's and cellotape them together, exactly the same as a 4690k but you save 33%

Trading overclocking for hyperthreading is a pretty bad trade for a gaming-focused machine.

i tested both and i absolutely disagree with you on that with the way the games are going...games like dragon age inquisition or farcry4 for example run's much better on a 3.5ghz hyper-threaded CPU than they do on a 4.5ghz non HT cpu...i have a video about this coming up soon ;) i've tested crysis 3, battlefield 4, Call of duty advance warfare, watchdogs and assassin's creed unity as well...basicaly all recent modern games and they are all much smoother with HT...where as overclocking a 4 threaded cpu yield next to no benefit.

 

Also if you consider the extra cost for a Z97 board and a cpu cooler for overclocking you end up paying more with the 4690K:

+ this xeon has a boost clock of 3.8ghz that you can lock across all cores on any H97 motherboard so you won't loose much in regards to clockspeed either if you consider 4.5ghz as an average overclock for the i5...and some of them won't even get you there.

Heck, i could have even trown in an i7-4790K which is a 4.4ghz boost CPU (again you can lock 4.4ghz across all 8 threads) and still cost in the same price range...
