well.......good luck cooling it with that melted h110....on the bright side the copper is now melted off and you can sell it on ebay.

lol no but in all seriousness you'd need some serious sh*t to cool it at 1.875v,I'm not sure that 5x doublethick 480mm radiators with 3mm-H20 fans set to push pull could cool it effectively, though we should ask ghost,he might know what could.

Yah I guess amd and intel assume that if your an enthusiast your going to have like a fully water cooled system with 2 480 rads in a push pull config lol.

well of course, what other reason could there be for the 2x 480mm radiators and mcp655 pump being included in the box with every intel core i5 and core i7 unlocked K series processor :P

But of course how could I have been so stupid to forget about intels complementary water cooling setup with every new k series cpu lol

Something to keep on mind 4.5 ghz on sandy bridge is less performance than 4.5 on ivy, which is less performance than 4.5 on haswell

GamingPC: Intel 4770k CPU, 2xMSI 780 GTX Twin Frozr, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro, Swiftech H220 CPU Cooler.

Like Linus said in the stream that some Intel chips are great while some are not. So I don't think they will fix this problem. :(

to be honest, the haswell temps are not that bad at all

80c on 4,7Ghz under extreme load i take that all day long :)

Yah thats ok and all but thats saying you get a chip that can clock up to 4.7 ghz. The heats not the biggest problem (though it is a problem), the biggest problem lies in having to play the "silicon lottery" just to get a good chip.

not really there is a way to win it

look at the prices

the mid range price between 330-350 you will get a decent OCer

all bellow that don't even start on it

How do i know this

my friend bought one (NL like me) for one like 310 euros, and it overclock like shit he got one from the L311B

i bought one in the 330 range also another friend did that to same site

both we have the L312B what are beastly OCERS :)

so infact some retailers ( in NL atleast) know that they selling

I was wondering about that because in America there is a place called microcenter where they sell cpu $100 cheaper than everyone else. I was wondering if maybe they can do that because maybe they won't OC as well as something from newegg which is $100 more expensive. Maybe its just a theory because how could the retailer know whiteout testing all their chips that they get from intel, unless intel gave them a spread sheet of all the oc capabilities that the chips had when they sold them to them. Though I highly doubt that because then you would see people advertising the chips as " this cost $100 extra because it can clock to 5 ghz".

i like intel i really do

but with all the bad IHS and delid mods because the sky high temps ofcourse OCers get some strange mind about the chips

and a 100$ diff there must be something wrong
