Inexpensive HTPC?

Im looking to buy htpc's for my home I don't want to break the bank what is a good build that is price friendly. Budget- cheap but powerful enough.

It's $300 and you could quite easily even play games (lightly) off it. It's definitely powerful enough.

Would a Raspberry Pi work or it is not powerful enough? 300 per room is alot i'm looking for alittle less then that.

definitely that then. No way in hell you're getting anything better for $300 and you have 1TB HDD, A dedicated graphics card and even an SSD. You could do some Steam games reasonably and stream movies perfectly. 1TB is way enough to store all the movies you need, not to mention HDDs are cheap as dirt.

It wouldn't work.

 

If you're looking for just streaming movies, you could consider a Chromecast or Microsoft Wireless Adapter - Steam from things like netflix / hulu / android phone for like $30.

 

I thought you meant for a single HTPC in your Lounge.

I'm building a new pc i was going to use my current pc as the host and then have the others take from mine. So i basically need a barebones that is powerful enough. Any Ideas?

If you are confident in being able to install an OS perhaps look at Raspberry Pi ? Very cheap and does the job.

Then definitely just use a Chromecast (or similar). a Roku or AppleTV would work as well for these, or an Intel NUC.

5600k comes with radeon hd 7560d graphics, common misunderstanding.
