You have to plug them both in or it won't work.

My PSu only has 1, 6 pin connection is there a cable I could buy to convert Molex to a 6 pin

What wattage is your power supply? Using a 6pin adapter could blow out your power supply if it can't supply enough power. Also who manufactures your power supply?
