Hey all, I'm just starting to put together my first build for my 3- D rendering and photo editing company.

1. Budget & Location
US $1500 willing to spend more to make the computer's performance better.

2. Aim
Primarily 3-D rendering (in programs such as ArchiCAD and Autodesk's Revit).

Gaming for Civ beyond the earth & Skyrim.

3. Monitors
One currently at 1600 x 900. Would like the ability to have 2 at better quality.

4. Peripherals

Currently I have Logitech, and their mouse & keyboard work (I'll probably upgrade later).

Also want to run Windows 7.

5. Why are you upgrading?

My current build is 5 years old and running slowly, plus its rendering abilities are lacking.

This is what I have come up with so far:

**CPU** | [AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd8350frhkbox)
**CPU Cooler** | [Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhd14)
**Motherboard** | [Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a99fxpror20)
**Memory** | [G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f31866c9q32gxm)
**Storage** | [intel 730 Series 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive](
**Storage** | [seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-stbd2000101)
**Video Card** | [Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card](
**Case** | [Corsair Graphite Series 230T Grey ATX Mid Tower Case](
**Power Supply** | [Corsair Professional 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-hx750)%C2'>

Questions being:

1) Are there any major bottlenecks in this system?

2) Will this CPU be the best for intensive rendering?

3) Should I look at a motherboard with 64gb Ram capacity?

Thank you for any help!! :)

32 GB is enough, to be honest 16 GB would just be fine, but I wouldn't be able to say well enough, but you don't need more than 32 GB for sure.

For rendering wise, I'd recommend I7 4790K really

Would you be planning to SLI later on? If not than I would get a lower Watt PSU

I7 4790K • Corsair H110 • MSI Z97 SLI Krait Edition • Kingston Fury Hyper X (White)(16GB)(1866Mhz) • Crucial MX 100 512 GB • Seagate Barracuda 1TB • Phantek Enthoo Pro • EVGA G2 750 Watt

Asus DRW Optical Drive • TP Link Wifi Adapter • Asus MX279H • CM Devastator Bundle (Blue) • Bitfenix Spectre Pro (White) • Windows 8.1

Galax Hall Of Fame 970

Changed a few things around.

The XFX XTR is a better psu than the RM. The XFX also has hybrid fan mode so it should run quiet.

Changed the board to a Gigabyte. I personally would never buy an ASRock board.

Swapped the SSD and HDD. The MX100 is a very good SSD, and the Hitachi 7K2000 is a reliable Hard Drive.

Changed the Case to a BeQuiet Silent Base 800. It has some sound proofing so along with the Noctua D14 you should have a quiet system.
