Hello,

First, sorry if my English is not perfect as i live in Uruguay.

The build is going to be exclusively for gaming, games from Minecraft to BF4.

I can spend a maximum of 1000 US dollars, I´m going to buy everything in the United States.

I´m going to use one 1080p monitor.

I have all the peripherals.

I currently have a notebook so i can´t reuse any parts.

I won´t do any overclocking.

I can only buy online from Amazon, Ncix or Newegg.

Case(I already bought it): Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 Advanced

Processor: i5 4690k

Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5

RAM: G.Skill 8gb 2x4gb 1866Mhz

Storage: 1TB WD Blue

Video Card: Gtx 970

Power supply: Evga SuperNova 650 Watts Gold

Please give me your opinions and recommend me which gtx 970 should i buy(preferably black or red).

I also plan on buying an ssd and maybe a cpu cooler in a couple of months.

I have around 5 days to buy everything, maybe a bit more for the video card as most of them are out of stock.

If you aren't doing overclocking then get a 4690 not 4690K, and an H or B series board instead of Z. Otherwise it's good. I recommend the Gigabyte G1 970. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/33xvmG Do this @TT0

Actually at the moment the i5 4690k is cheaper so thats why I´m buying it.

I was thinking between the Strix the Evga o maybe the Msi, but I´ll probably go with the Evga FTW if i can find it in stock.

I´m mostly going with the z97 gaming 5 for the looks and to leave room for upgrades.

Thanks for the replies.

In my opinion the Gigabyte G1 is the best 970 and the best 980. I have the 980. They overclock like hell they have been binned.

Btw mi padre es Uruguayo! Bienvenido al forum!

That is a very good build. I say go for it. The only thing I would change is the motherboard to a similarly priced ASRock extreme 4 or an ASUS Z97-A. I like those boards better than the MSI board.

MSI uses these little flat capacitors around the CPU and they have a shorter lifespan than normal solid caps.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.
