I'm new to this whole computer-building world, and I would like to jump right in and build my own gaming computer.  I've done some research and I think I've put together a decent computer.  Here's what I've got:

CPU:  AMD FX-8350 8-Core Processor

MOTHERBOARD:  ASRock FM2A75 Pro4+

VIDEO CARD:  EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Signature 2

PSU: Cooler Master V750

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)

CPU COOLER:  Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

SSD:  Intel 530 240GB

HARD DRIVE:  WD 1TB

CASE:  NZXT Phantom 410

(I know I might be over-doing it a bit, but I really love this case.)

If anyone can tell me if this build needs changing, like if any parts aren't compatible with one another or if any of the parts should be changed, that would be awesome.  I've also added a monitor, keyboard, and a mouse which I've listed below.

MONITOR:  Acer H276HL 27in

KEYBOARD:  Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition

MOUSE:  Razer Abyssus

Thanks!

CPU isn't compatible with that mobo. You need an AM3+ board, not FM2. Also a newer GPU would help.

My budget is $1500.  Is the ASUS M5A99FX PRO a good motherboard for the CPU?  Any recommendations for a new GPU?  Because of my budget, I'd like to keep the price of the video card under $400.

Do NOT get an AMD FX at that price point. Get an i5 or an i5 and a Z97 board

Of course this is assuming you actually want to spend $1500. There is a lot of room to cut money from my suggested build, for instance, going with a locked Xeon/i5 or an unlocked i5-4690k for the CPU. The stock cooler and an H97 board instead of the Hyper 212 EVO and Z97 board if you're not overclocking. The expensive keyboard. The high end power supply.

You're a goof for putting a DC chip on Z87. Dev Can is Z97. He'd need a bios update to use that Z87 board. The Z97-A is better anyways.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.
