I tried to oc my cpu which is an FX 6300 with a gigabyte GA 970a ds3p but when I go back to windows and I open CPU-z or other softwares monitoring my cpu at the multiplier says 14-20 and the higher I go the lower the multiplier gets.temps are around 40c max

Yes prime 95 30min each test.

And the CPU never went to your set OC? Did you actually save your settings?

Sry for my late answer but yes i saved and I know because it goes to 4.0GHz in CPU z the problem is that is dropping GHz even in prime 95 and I turned all the saving features in BIOS.

I have the same CPU and Board, Im prepping for an OC tomorrow.

Did you turned of Turbo boost ?
