I've been looking at decent mechanical keyboards that I can buy soon. I'll be using a cheap, $15 one until I get one. What's the best one for $30-40? I don't honestly care about black-lit keys or anything fancy like that..

You're pretty hard pressed for options for Mechanical's at this price point...  The CM Storm (One of the cheaper Boards) is 100$...

 

If you want a good recommendation for a non- mechanical at that price point I heard the K40 Is good...

Monoprice has a nice one with blues for 60 dollars

Is the Logitech G105 membrane keyboard a decent keyboard? Will the keys on it last? Can I turn off anything like black-lit keys?

It's a good non-mechanical one, yes.

You can turn the backlighting off I'm sure.

I don't know how long the keys will last but the rubber domes will last 10+ years.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
