#1 HyperX Cloud

*I have a microphone, so I only listed the HyperX Cloud because I've read it has pretty good sound quality for being a gaming headset.

#2 Audio-Technica ATH-M30X

#3 Sennheiser HD 518

All three of these are similarly priced at the moment on amazon, $64.99 , $69.00 , $79.00 respectively.

What I'm looking for most is comfort, ones that don't exert excessive force on your head. The last headset I bought (Turtle Beach X12) clamped my head way too hard, and I got rid of them.

Clear sound that isn't riddled with bass (though I still do want some bass) would also be awesome (which most of these seem to have?).

I've watched a few video reviews on all of them, but I'm still having trouble deciding on which ones to actually buy.

If you have a different suggestion in the $60-$80 range, I'd be glad to hear it.

Thanks in advance.

I have some HyperX Clouds and they do indeed have some pretty great sound, and I wear them for hours at a time and they never bothered me once. They have really excellent build quality, I accidentally sat on them once and nothing happened. So my vote goes to the HyperX Clouds.

Corsair V 2100's are 75$... They're great audio quality. I recommend them allot. They feel great too...

So great I fell asleep with them on...

But that's irreverent!

Hyper X cloud, based on previous experience with threads like these

They appear the same in design as my Turtle Beach X11 (which are currently dead, just using the mic), which are amazingly comfortable. How clear are the mids/highs?

AKG K240s are excellent, I recently purchased a pair. They're recommended on Head-Fi and Logan from TekSyndicate.

Ah, I was initially looking at those but one of the reviews stated they switched manufacturing to China and they didn't quite sound the same afterwards; I was little weary of that.

Oh man, decisions, decisions.

BRO, I HAD THE x12 AND THEY ARE TOURTURE.

Ahaha, yup. They sounded pretty good to me (as I probably have yet to hear amazing headphones?) but jeez, they killed my entire head.

Anyway, you guys, Linus's video, Tek Syndicate and HardwareCanucks all say the HyperX Cloud is, for the most part, an amazing headset. So I'm going with the HyperX Cloud, as I do play a large amount of games as well as listen to music.

Last question, would my Gigabyte z77-hd3 on-board audio be able to drive these fine? Or would investing in an amp at a later date be beneficial? Sorry, I'm not as informed on audio equipment as I'd like to be. :\

Edit: Well I read the sticky... I'm dumb.

Thanks for the advice.
