same quality. just more time spent in the architect phase to fit everything into such a small form factor.

Basically, I'm wondering how micro parts are smaller and cheaper.  Do they have less power?  Are they just a lower quality?  Can they somehow do less then normal parts?  Are they lacking something? Etc.

I know that picture you're using! :D

 

Anywho, it fits in with the same price points that you would usually find. I don't  think they would be any more expensive or cheaper.

Usually MicroATX motherboards have less PCIE lanes and less features - features that most people won't need anyways, so you aren't really missing out on much.

However, the main cost savings come from the fact that they need less materials to make the board, and shipping/etc etc is a lot cheaper, too.

Remember to be a good citizen and choose a 'best answer' when your problem has been resolved!

(that way people know when a problem's been resolved)

microATX generally is just as good as ATX.

You get a few less expansion slots, but not much else changes.
