Hello,

So I have my computer in my basement (makes to much noise), and I ran cables one floor up (right above where the computer is located). So I have a usb hub, hdmi cables, an external dvd drive etc. But the issue is the power and reset button. Usually I just put my computer on sleep, and if i click my mouse or keyboard it turns on. But that is not always the case. sometimes ill click my mouse/keyboard and the computer wont turn on and I would have to go downstairs to press the power button to turn it on. I have tried many solutions like turning it on through my phone, but I was having issues with that where the computer would just turn on by itself. So my last resort is to get a long power button and reset button (15-20ft). I searched around but I can only find then maybe 2ft at the longest. Are there any prebuilt power buttons that come this long? Or do I need to make my own? If anyone could please link me to the long cable I would really appreciate it, or the supplies needed to make my own button. Thank!

It'd be best to make one yourself since it 's not a common need, I would suggest using a long USB cable and connect it to the power button front I/O on the PC.

Here's an example of what you may be wanting to do:

Buy a button from frozencpu.com and just extend the wire

That video from W-L is really good!, spwath I saw the buttons there, there are really good, and I would like to use one there, could anyone link me to which cables i would need? Sorry I dont really know alot about this

From what he used in the video he used a USB 3.0 cable for his USB connector and power switch/HDD LED since it's length limit is within the 5M without any data loss for the USB, but any 2 wire conductor will work since it needs very little to get a connection to just turn on the PC.

Fowr switches as others have said FroenCPU has a lot of choices:

Are there any websites that sell the black and red thin power cables that come inside a usb cable seperatly? or do i have to buy an actual usb cable

You can use speaker wire if you have some handy and they're not very expensive for a big roll, I would suggest something around 18-20 AWG to ensure not issues with resistance due to the extra length, the front IO wires are usually a 22-24AWG.
