New Phone for under $250

2G_Tony
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Moto G. No question at that price point.

Could anyone recommend a phone for under $250 that has the following features:
-Unlocked GSM (compatible with Straight Talk SIMs in the US - or any other carrier that offers unlocked GSM phones with an unlimited plan for under $60)
-At least 1GB of RAM
-Expandable storage of 64GB (Could do 32 GB, in which case I would ask about the Moto G (2nd Gen) or the Titan HD E500)
-Preferably a quad-core, but a dual-core would be fine
-Decent screen (Prferably AMOLED but a 720p/1080p LCD would be fine, greater than 4")
-Preferably Android 4.4/KitKat

I've been using a Reverb on Virgin Mobile for the past three years and it can't handle the large amounts of music I have on it without crashing, so I think it's time for an upgrade :D As always, all feedback is appreciated.

Is that a Star-Tac? :P

Moto G, 1st Gen if you want LTE, 2nd if you want a bigger screen.

I have well over 10K songs in my music library. A 64GB would only hold some of my music... xD

My brother has the THL 5000 (1080p IPS, slower and less efficient SoC than the snapdragon 600 (about 21000 in antutu), 2GB RAM, 5000mAh battery that can charge other devices, dual sim and microSD slot, no LTE nor 802.11ac. I had only 20 minutes to play with it, but he says he is satisfied.

How much storage do you actually need?, because the Moto X 2013 Dev edition is $259 from Mobile Pros on eBay. It only has 32Gb of non expandable storage(well, OTG is available), but its a much better device than the Moto G in my opinion. I recently got that Moto X(same seller) and I like the additional features that are left out on the G(driving mode, Active display, NFC, etc.). Its much faster and the 2Gb of ram is nice(The G runs out so quickly).
